City of Taft Draft Climate Action PlanReady for Release

Public encouraged to provide feedback during 30-day comment period

The City of Taft has released a Draft Climate Action Plan (CAP) for a 30-day public review and comment period.  The comment period begins on Saturday, March 4, 2017 and ends on Monday, April 3, 2017.  This is an important opportunity for residents to share their views and give insight on recommended programs to achieve state-recommended greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets. Your participation and contribution is essential.

About the Draft Climate Action Plan (CAP)

The City of Taft CAP is a comprehensive strategy to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and streamline environmental review of future development projects in the City of Taft. The CAP identifies an overall strategy, including reduction measures and implementation actions, which the City will use to achieve the state-recommended GHG emissions reduction targets for 2020, 2030, and 2050.  Each community is required to develop a CAP.

The Draft CAP is posted for review on the City’s Web site, www.cityoftaft.org. Copies of the CAP are also available for review at Taft City Hall, 209 East Kern Street, Taft, CA 93268.
